Free Stuff in Vegas Today - 12/09/08
Today’s freebies include something for just about everyone — gamblers, cocktail connoisseurs, cowboys, sports fans, music fans and anyone who could use a healthy dose of holiday spirit.
Pick Bob Dancer’s brain as the video poker guru explains the in-and-outs of Full Pay Deuces Wild during this week’s free lesson at the South Point. He’ll discuss the basics from noon-1:30 pm and then follow up with intermediate strategies from 2 pm-3:30 pm
Meet a local legend at PT’s Place (Charleston & Decatur). UNLV head coach Lon Kruger and co-author DJ Allen will autograph their book, “The Xs and Os of Success: A Playbook for Leaders in Business and Life,” and visit with fans from 5 pm-6:30 pm.
Fremont Street gets festive with their tree lighting ceremony tonight at 6 pm. Stick around for the debut of the Holiday Lights on Ice show.
Technically free but don’t be a cheapskate…Monster Circus at the Las Vegas Hilton brings together some talented rock musicians for a Toys for Tots fundraiser in the Showroom. Special guest Dee Snider joins Rudy Sarzo (Quiet Riot and others), John Corabi (Motley Crue), Bruce Kulick (Kiss), Bobby Rock (Slaughter), Dave Kushner (Velvet Revolver) and Tony Montana (Great White) for an evening of rock & roll, fire-eaters, sexy dancers and more. Drop off one unwrapped toy at the door starting at 5 pm. Show begins at 6:30 pm.

The Carter Twins perform at the Cox Pavilion’s Cowboy Corral. Doors open at 5 pm.
South Point Showroom hosts the Go-Round Buckle Presentations with Susie Dobbs back onstage, 9:30 pm-2:30 am.
National Finals Tonight takes place in the Gold Coast Showroom and is hosted by eight-time NFR world champion Don Gay and TV personality Dan Miller. Music provided by Wylie and the Wild West and the Doo Wah Ryders.
Flynville Train is in concert at the Silverton Entertainment Pavilion. Concert begins after the final rodeo event of the evening.
